These are meant to stow your facepiece in a safe, out-of-the-way position. You can quickly release it with an easily accessed pull tab. Most aspects of the pull tab can be customized to your liking. It includes a non-rated Carabiner Clip. These are intended to break loose if they become snagged during fireground operations for safety reasons.
